Here are some words from Grant Higa about his latest competition and victory in Mountain View, CA.
“I placed 2nd overall in the Open men 308.5 lbs class.
But won the Masters 40-44 308.5 lbs class.
The venue was really tough to lift in.
It was HOT. 90 degrees outside and no A/C in the building we competed in, so it was super muggy and sweaty. Felt like I lost 10 lbs in one day.
Made this really tough to lift in and I truly believe it affected everyone’s attempts.
The one positive was that I was able to break my Washington state record in the deadlift with a 716.4 lbs lift.
I opened with 672.4 lbs, then 694 lbs, and finally broke the record on my 3rd attempt.
